Project Description (Extended)
72 C-PRINTS (2015)
72-C-Prints was a site-specific installation at the Neue Schule für Fotografie in Berlin.
The exhibition space and laboratories occupied the premises of a former bank in Mitte. One of the galleries was located in the basement, in what once was a bank vault.
In this secluded and dark space, negative color analog photographic paper was exposed to different gradations of light emitted from a portable flash through color filters. The exposed paper was then developed a floor upstairs in one of the school laboratories, and as the photographs dried, they were taken back to the vault where they were exposed previously to be displayed during one of their open door weekends.
In the exterior of the vault a pre-recorded video displaying the flashes being fired played, and a poster created from the stills was put outside the laboratory where the images were printed.
